More about me

I'm a driven news reporter, passionate about making real change through my journalistic work.

Since June 2022, I've been working as a trainee reporter at The Derbyshire Times, covering stories that matter to Derbyshire residents.

Over the last two years I've published a wide range of stories including breaking news, human-interest pieces, court and inquest reports, reviews and more. You can find a selection of my stories in my portfolio below.

I've produced numerous articles advocating for better services for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across Derbyshire.

I covered the 2024 General Election for the Derbyshire Times, running a live blog covering all 11 seats across the county and live reporting from the Chesterfield vote count.

I've brought about real change after producing a series of stories about Erin Landfill Site, which emitted an unbearable odour affecting residents’ daily lives and mental health as well as local schools. My work resulted in gas wells being installed at the landfill site and the smell disappearing.

Before joining the Derbyshire Times, I studied journalism at the University of Sheffield and graduated with a first-class degree. While at the University I worked as a features editor at the University newspaper Forge Press and I was the media and publicity officer for the Women's Committee.

I completed a work experience at The Star in Sheffield in 2022 and had a number of my stories published at the paper in the last four years.

In my free time I enjoy long walks, reading books and going to live music events.
